We should start being vigilant in making our websites; most of the website in the world endures some mistakes that can be avoided. 1. Contact information is not visible

Whether a small or medium business, they should have their contact information ready and visible to the visitors that why the customer had a confidence that they are dealing with real businesses. It should include a contact detail like phone number and the business physical address.

2. Irrelevant FAQ Page content

Most of the websites don’t have a FAQ Pages while others have irrelevant questions on that page. It should provide updated information that can answer the simplest question of the visitors.

3. Poor website navigation

An organized website navigation and well-presented manner are a good sign. Link and menus have a standard location and techniques. The home and contact us should be easy to find and other are easily recognized. Think of the logical organization of your website.

4. Too many flash and unimportant graphics

Flash can add excitement to your website. The downside is that not everyone has flash or a bandwidth to support flash and it usually loads slowly. With regards to graphics design, make sure that it can enhance the user experience. It should balance everything in the site, ensuring that it’s attractive and functional.

5. Search Engine Unfriendly

Well, an optimized website will give you a good ranking position in search engine while being search engine unfriendly will left your website behind. Using search engine optimization technique will make your website to be more visible in eyes of search engines like Google, Yahoo, and Bing.

6. Pop-up Pages

Avoid using pop-up windows. It may irritate the visitors and most of the browsers are tend to block them. However, if you have a good reason using pop-up windows then you can use it like if you want to give away something for free.

7. Broken or Dead Links

It’s so unprofessional having a website with dead links. For users, it’s a waste of time to visit a site with broken links. All links should work properly and tested on a regular basis especially if it’s linked to the deep pages or your website.

8. Install Software Requirements

Do not require your visitors to install software just to view your site. It’s a no-no. However, in a special case, some applications or extensions that have gained an extensive trust and acceptance like Acrobat and flash files are accepted.

9. Assuming that visitors will read your site

Not all people who visit your website will read all the pages or a single page in your website. They usually scan the page and look for relevant information they need. Give your visitors a quality content so that they can come back to your website again.

10. No site monitoring

It is essential to monitor your website for you to know what you will need to make your website better. Actually, there are lots of free monitoring tools available that can provide important insights into the behavior of your visitors.
